Skills: Laura Tate is like an absent minded professor trapped in a the body of a young model.  Not even old enough to drink, she can strip and rebuild a military vehicle, assemble a robot mainframe, strip, clean, or reassemble a rifle in record time, or build a supercomputer mainframe from scratch parts, composing the necessary tools and chemicals as she goes.  She is an avid reader, and a wizard with machinery. Her skills tend towards physics and spatial relations, and she has difficulty with abstract or supernatural concepts.

Powers:  Laura's special ability is a nearly flawless eidetic memory.  Her brain is like a cyclopian infopeadia of every sensation she's ever experienced, every word she's ever read, every spec she's ever seen, and every sound she's ever heard.  Her brain is filled to the brim with ideas formed from the patterns and data in her memory, and she's a whirl of energy as she tries to physically realize as many of them simultaneously as she can.  Her ability to multi-task is stunning.

Vulnerabilities: With the exception of her mutant brain functions, Laura is your basic human.  The constant activity in her brain causes a hyperactivity disorder, and bipolar disorder, as well as compulsive behaviors which makes it very difficult  for her to relate socially.  Her mouth is a self-perpetuating motor, pontificating on whatever comes into her head to be said.  She sleeps very little, and is a habitual abuser of stimulants such as coffee.  She also feels compelled to be performing multiple functions at once to try to try all kinds of different experiments at the same time, and has difficulty focusing on any one thing.  There's a certain tragic naïveté that surrounds everything she does, and a desperate need for some kind of companionship.

History:

[spoiler]Laura Tate was born in Montgomery Alabama about 19 years ago.  She was born to a single Mother when the Father left for greener pastures, and then raised by her Uncle on a mink ranch/ car garage in Atlanta Georgia while her mother returned to college full time.  Her Uncle discovered her talents, and nicknamed her the "diapered dynamo' for the way she took to mechanics.  By the time she was in high school, she had been recruited by several colleges for advanced studies.  On her eighteenth birthday, her researches online (performed by an automated information trawler that she and some her 'gifted' online leet geek friends had designed) had run afoul of one of Professor Laffer's and Dr. Warner’s brainchildren.  Her persistence in trying to discover what could have taken apart such an advanced program brought her talents to the attention of both gentlemen, and an invitation to the Mtech school was soon in the offing.  She accepted, eager to mingle with other brilliant minds.

Laura has more or less embraced the school's philosophy.  While she has not taken any slaves yet, she practices and advances on every assignment given to her with the devotion of a hound, or a fanatic.  She cares deeply about impressing every teacher, regardless of the subject matter.  (She has had a great deal of trouble with magic, as the ideas in it are very abstract.)  It was this that prompted her to miscast a spell in the dorm she shared with Grace.

Grace proved a tolerant roommate and Laura admires her for her skill in magic.  These two, along with some other acquaintances such as Sarah, Brittney, and Neraqua tried to form a study group in the first week, with an agreement to pool their knowledge and not use any MC on each other.  Not quite like the defense group, but at least one with a pact of mutual non-aggression.  This fell apart when Grace reacted to Sarah, who was preparing to brainwash Hunter.   Soon, Neraqua fell victim to another Mtech student, and Brittney broke the non-aggression rule by trying to use a chemical potion on Grace.  When during a study session in the dorm room, Laura miscast a memory charm, Grace lost her memory and her unchecked power manifested.  Laura is completely unaware that her spell had any effect, and convinced herself that Grace was acting strangely out of simple jealousy for her (Laura's) technical skill.

In addition, Laura just met the hunky but distant blind shaman Phillip Couseau.  After they were paired for a time in Laffer/Kenshiro's class, the two had a tryst together, and Laura is now head over heels in love with the strange healer.

Laura currently has a video game mod for the Mind Bender program, has put some serious practice into the other skills she's been shown, but the one person she most hopes to meet is Dr. Warren, as she is a long time fan.  She is concerned because she hasn't been able to raise him at his office since the debacle with Snooch in the last engineering class, and she wants to demonstrate a portable "apprehendor/fascinator" type droid that she's been working on to Dr. Warren.[/spoiler]

Man though, I haven't seen this forum engine for years.

Greeterlings. I shall be going by Numbers the moment I can change the visible name on here, the current one is so I remember how to log in. For some reason I seem to be paranoid that someone I know will confront me upon finding a hyper-obscure forum with me on it, even though they'll instantly know it's me anyway from my cadence.

Full-time and wholly unapologetic weeb of the chuunibyou subspecies, newly-instated university student, absolutely pretentious, but writing and by extension RPing are one of the few skills I have under my absurdly specialised belt, so here I am. Gonna experiment for a little while, might end up primarily playing a hero, villain, or maybe I'll just ADHD my way out of here faster than you can shake a dick stick, but I'm hoping my attention span is a little longer than that.

Looking forward to making some prose.

Bio: Selected at the age of 12 for magical training, Alistair was separated from his family and childhood friends. All alone in a brand new city, Alistair withdrew into his studies. As a result of this sheltered upbringing, Alistair is awkward in most social situations. But his self-imposed isolation did have one benefit, he had all the time in the world to study magic. He took a liking to evocation magic above the other schools. In the academy he met his future wife, Elisa, a similarly awkward person. They met in the library, and quickly bonded over their love of reading and literature. Eventually, their friendship evolved into something more, and 5 years after meeting for the first time, they were married. Two years later, Alistair finally received his wizard certification, allowing him to roam the world freely. After discussing it with Elisa, they agreed that he would set off adventuring on his own, and she would join him when she received her certification. And so Alistair set off on his journey...

Read magic(passive): Alistair can innately see magical auras from magical items and ongoing spells. By concentrating for a round, he can identify them.

Magic missile(Basic attack): 90% 10hp. A small bolt of magic flies at near the speed of sound at Alistair's target, damaging them.

Crushing fist: 75% 35hp.A hand of pure force flies out of Alistair's staff at his foes, slamming into them.

Personality: Midna is a tricky being. Whether she is full sized or in her impish state, she knows how to manipulate a person into thinking or believing one thing. She is particularly good at using her looks. However, just because she knows how to fool people doesn't mean that is her only trick. She is a capable weilder of a variety of different spells of the Twilight Realm, not to mention surprisingly adept with a variety of weapons and fighting techniques (despite what the game might lead you to believe). When it comes right down to it, however, she's not a fan of shouldering the burden herself, and would much rather delegate the action to a minion than dirty her hands with fighting the 'light dwelling commoners'.

One of her battle quotes in Hyrule Warriors kind of implied the opposite of that last one: she seemed the be the kind of warrior who relishes battle and enjoys the thrill of combat, and also respects the light dwellers.

History: When she was three, Azri's family (including her) was abducted by a group of cultists following an evil god (didn't look up much on the lore yet, Anyone have a link? Tongue). There, her parents were sacrificed after being submitted to horrible things, as Azri had to look. She was soon after saved by a group of adventurers, who vanquished the cultists, and took her back to the city, where she was raised as an inquisitor.

Azri wears a business style suit, that secretly protects her from mind-affecting techniques. The color is a mix of dark red with black. Her weapon of choice is a cane that contains a sword, as well as a hidden rifle. Other weapons she uses are: Throwing knives, a grappling hook, and two sharp studs on her gloves and her heels.

Non-Combat Abilities:
Grapplehook: Propels herself in any direction she likes.
Inquisitor's Presence: Most common people are scared of the inquisition and the power they wield. Therefore, an Inquisitor is spoken to as least to as possible by anyone other than members of her order.
Combat Abilities:
Melee:
Punch: A regular hit, reinforced by her sharpened gloves. 95% To hit, 10 HP
Kick: A regular kick, reinforced by her sharpened heels. 95% To hit, 10 HP
Quick Slash:
Azri use her sword to slash her enemy. Damage: 15 HP. 90% To hit.
Holy Smite:
Azri calls upon her faith to guide her strike, dealing more damage to the enemies of the faith. Only usable on enemies of the faith, and only once in an encounter. Damage: 30 HP. 65% to hit.
Grappleshot:
Azri shoots a grappler at her enemy, pulling them towards her, then slashing the enemy. Damage: 30 HP. 70% To hit.

Ranged:
Shot: A simple ranged shot. Damage: 15 HP. 90% To Hit.
Throwing knife flurry: Azri takes 20 of her knives and launch them at the enemy. 20 Attacks, To hit: 40% Damage: 5
Multi-shot: 5 Arrows shot at the same time. Damage: 60 HP. 30% To hit.

Ranged-Melee combination:
Shooting Spin-Slash: Takes a shot at the target, then shoots her grapplehook at the target, jumps forward and makes a quick flurry of combos. Damage: 40 HP. To hit: 45 %

Special:
Suit: Azri's Suit protects her from mind-affecting techniques. -10 CC damage every round.
Magical Sense: Inquisitors can see the flow of magic around them. Azri is no exception
Trained Eyes: Having been an inquisitor for some time, Azri can recognize a mistress when she sees one.
Begone!: Binds a mistress for 2 turns. Can only be used once in an encounter.
Mind-Protection: Having been trained to become an inquisitor of the faith, Azri has a greater protection against mind-affecting attacks. She has a 80% Chance to take 20% Less CC damage every turn.
Anti-Magic Zone: Mistresses often use magic. Inquisitors are trained to overcome this magic by using this holy symbol. Only used in extreme circumstances For 6 turns, all magic abilities are dispelled, even passive ones. The Magic Zone taxes Azri's body however, costing her 50 HP.
Weakness:
Traumatizing Sight: Seeing the things that she saw when she was 3, still haunts her to this day. This could be exploited by a smart mistress...

Race: Wisp/Human
Appearance: Wisper is an 18 year old girl possessed by an evil Wisp. Her skin is pale, almost grey. Her eyes are a dull silver color, and her hair is black. She wears a dark grey wrapping around her chest, completely concealing her small breasts, but fully exposing her shoulders and stomach. She wears a pair of light grey short shorts, and no shoes. She is very nimble and fit, her little body only about 5’ 1” tall. Emanating from her body like feathery tentacles are silver trails of mist, which quickly fills up any room she walks in with a light fog. This is the extension of the parasitic Wisp that indwells her body and mind.
Bio: Wisper’s true identity is unknown. She was just a little girl when she was possessed by the evil Wisp, who forced her to leave her parents. It molded and shaped her mind, turning her into the perfect vessel. However, its domination over her did not last, as the girl inside began fighting against the Wisp’s control. By the time she reached the age of 18, Wisper had finally won control over the Wisp, forcing it to serve her. Having known nothing but domination and control her entire life, Wisper decided to use her newfound power to take control of others. She cares not for mindless minions; she wants only the best under her full control. Heroes, she wanted heroes to bend to her will. She wanted to watch them choke in her mist before succumbing to her silver tendrils, wrapped up in her grey embrace.
Wisper prefers to have female slaves, but will ensnare a male if he proves useful. While she loves to watch her pets fight her battles for her, she is not above joining the fray herself. She prefers to enslave her foes right on the battlefield, but will knock out an opponent and drag them back to her lair to take control of them if necessary.
Wisper is confident, seductive, and a bit brash. She prefers to fight first and think later. But she isn’t dumb; she is definitely not too proud to abandon a fight if things go sour.

Special attacks/Abilities:

Name: Wispering Mist
Description: If Wisper is fighting an opponent(s) indoors, the room fills with her mist. As the silver fog is inhaled by her foes, they begin to hear the whispers of her voice echoing in their heads, slowly converting them into her slaves. This does 1 CC damage at the end of each turn. If the opponent is wearing a mask with some kind of filter, or the battle is taking place outside, this ability is useless. If this ability is in effect, Hypnotic Mist can be used on any foe influenced by the mist.

Name: Silver Whip
Base Hit Percentage: 80%
Description:  Wisper can solidify one of her silver tendrils into a whip and smack her opponent with it, dealing 30 HP of damage. Since the whip is solid, it cannot be inhaled by the opponent and therefore does no CC damage.

Name: Cloud Burst
Base Hit Percentage: 60%
Description: Wisper blows a cloud of mist at her opponent, forcing him/her to inhale a large quantity of the whispering fog and dealing 25 CC damage. Foes wearing a mask with a filter are immune to this attack. If the attack is successful, the opponent who inhaled the mist will keep it in his/her lungs for 1 turn. If Wispering Mist is not in effect, then this lungful of mist acts like it, dealing 1 CC damage at the end of the turn and allowing Wisper to use Hypnotic Mist. If Wispering Mist is in effect, then this extra lungful of mist does no extra CC damage.

Name: Hypnotic Mist
Base Hit Percentage: 80%
Description: Wisper focuses on a single target and strengthens the voice of the mist he/she has already inhaled, making it harder to resist her voice. This does 15 CC damage. This attack is only available if either Wispering Mist is in effect and the foe is under its influence, or if the opponent has just been hit with Cloud Burst.

Name: Silver Claw
Base Hit Percentage: 75%
Description: For those opponents immune to Wispering Mist or Cloud Burst, Wisper can solidify a cloud of mist into a large claw and strike down her foes, dealing 35 HP damage. Like Silver Whip, this attack is solid and therefore cannot be inhaled, dealing no CC damage.

Name: Breath Deep
Base Hit Percentage: 20%
Description: If Wisper can catch her foe off-guard, she can kiss them deeply, filling their lungs and mind with her mist. This does 55 CC damage. If the foe is wearing a mask, the Base Hit Percentage is dropped to 15%, since she also has to take the mask off before kissing her opponent.

Name: Heavy Fog
Base Hit Percentage: 65%
Description: Wisper wraps her opponent in a cloud of mist, solidifies it, and picks the foe up into the air. Since the mist can only maintain solid form for a short while, she immediately slams the foe into the ground, dealing 40 HP damage.

Wisper doesn't keep minions, as she finds keeping track of multiple slaves too taxing. She prefers to have a few loyal, converted heroes to play with.
